Meal is to be served at 6:00 p.m. Please plan to bless the meal, serve the people, then fix you a plate and eat and fellowship with the people. They have residents assigned to wash dishes, so we only need to help empty our dishes into their bowls. You may call the shelter to get an approximate number of people to prepare for, but usually we just plan on about 20.

A Murfreesboro shelter that was on the brink of closing late last year (2011) is no longer in danger of shutting its doors due to an increase in donations.
Christine Huddleston started Room in Room in the Inn, which is located at 640 W Main Street, with her husband 26 years ago.
"We're the oldest homeless shelter in Rutherford County," she said, adding, "I'm amazed at the people who don't know we're here."
In December, Huddleston was afraid she was going to be forced to close the shelter's doors due to a substantial decrease in donations from area churches and individuals.
"They've been hit by the economy just like everybody else, so I lost about $1,300 a month from smaller churches," she said.
The shelter operates on a budget of $75,000 per year and was struggling to make ends meet causing Huddleston to use her own money to help house hundreds of homeless people and families.
Since Nashville's News 2 aired a story on the uncertain future of the shelter, Huddleston said money and food donations have poured in.
"[Donations] have exceeded over $50,000. Those donations have made it possible for Room in the Inn to be here for a long time," she said.
Huddleston continued, "The option of closing just doesn't fit period. What would all of these people do if we weren't here?"
Room in the Inn operates differently than many area shelters. For example, guests are required to find jobs and everyone has chores to complete.
