 MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

Week of  Prayer for International      Missions

 "Lottie Moon Christmas Offering"

The theme this year is "I am..His Heart, His Hands, His Voice". Did you know that nearly 3,800 people groups remain unengaged and unreached to the saving grace of Jesus?

You may ask, how can I help?  There are 2 ways.

First of all, pray for the missionaries that God called to go unto the ends of the earth to proclaim the Good News of Jesus.

Second, you can give. Sunday Dec 18th is our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering Day. Our goal is $2,000.

Third, come on Wednesday night Dec 14th to our Christmas Missions Party. Archie Jones, a retired     missionary who served in Ecuador with Bro. Shelby's Dad, will share just how important our giving is to our missionaries around the world.

Do you believe we can reach our goal? I do!

Mark your calendars now for December 14th. You don't want to miss this exciting event. This would be a good time to invite your friends that do not attend church to come and see just how much fun we as Christian can have just by being together, loving each other and     focusing on the mission of our Lord Jesus Christ. After all. He is the reason that we celebrate this season!

We have received $1,877.12 out of our $2,000 goal.  Please, if you have not given, you have until the end of January.  Please help us reach our goal so that our missionaries will be ableto have the supplies they need to share Jesus with their different people groups!

Did you all have a Merry Christmas? It is my prayer that you enjoyed the fellowship with your family and friends and now looking forward to exciting mission projects in 2012. Our first one will be the Baptist  Collegiate Luncheon on January 25th. Our Church is to provide the meat entrée.

We will need people to sign up to bring meats or casseroles for this day.  Please be at the church at 10:00 a.m. if you are planning on going with us or have your food to the church by 10.  we need to leave by 10:15 so the food can be   reheated if necessary.  We need to plan on feeding about 75 students

We have just completed the yearly baby bottle project to help the Pregnancy Support Center with $1414.06.  Seventy-one bottles were turned in. Thank you all who participated.  We will begin the project again in January.

 Food Pantry

The food pantry is in need of everything.  The 3rd Sunday of each month is designated for food pantry day, but you may bring food at any time.  As of this time,  we only have enough food to help 2 families.  Anything you bring to the pantry will be appreciated.

Example of items needed:  rice, hamburger helpers, peanut butter, jelly, canned meats, spaghetti o's, canned vegetables, soups, frozen hamburger meat, hot dogs, chicken, baby food, diapers (all sizes), crackers, individual coffee packs, tea, flour, sugar, bisquick, beans of any kind and anything else that you would like to bring.

If you have any questions, please call the church office or speak with someone on the food pantry team.
