Giving in the Grace of God

As we begin this amazing journey to expand this building of God, we have to remember it isn't about or for us.  It is all for the Lord.  That is why we pray fervently before making any decisions, big or small.  We ask you pray for us and with us, for this is not a journey for the church leaders alone.
Each one of us in this blessed church family has a part.  It is your responsibility to be in communication with God so you know what He has planned for you as well!  Below are a few key notes that God has placed on my heart to share with each of you.  May God continue to bless each of you as He has blessed me with the love that you show!

- Rev. Shelby Smith

Giving in the Grace of God

I.   Give from a cheerful heart
2 Cor. 9:7 - Each person should do as he has decided in his heart - not out of regret or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.

II.  Give according to what you yourself decide to give, and not looking at what others give

III. Give by first looking at Jesus and how He gave of Himself

2 Cor. 8:9 - For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ:  although He was rich, for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich.

IV.  Give according to what you have, not what you don't have

2 Cor. 8:12 - For if the eagerness is there, it is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.

V.   Give as a part of your own personal devotion to the Lord

2 Cor. 8:3-5 - I testify that, on their own, according to their ability and beyond their ability, they begged us insistently for the privilege of sharing in the ministry to the saints, and not just as we had hoped.  Instead, they gave themselves especially to the Lord, then to us by God's will.

VI.  Give with thanksgiving for God's wonderful gift of forgiveness, Eternal Life, etc.

2 Cor. 9:15 - Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.
