Does Anyone Know My Name?

I.     Who was she?

A.     Where was she? What was she doing? Was she even there?

B.     All we know is she was married to a famous man - a big mouth man; a chosen man

C.     Jesus knew!

II.           Jesus knows your deepest cares / needs / hurts / and desires

A.     Jesus knows your heart

B.     (You may not show up in the pages of history, but be assured)You are in God's record books

C.     (Maybe it seems like everyone around you is getting all the attention - but) Jesus never misses even one of your thoughts or feelings.

D.     As you silently bear with the issues and matters and struggles of this life - Jesus is always there.

Psalms 3:3-5 (HCSB)

3 But You, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts up my head.

4 I cry aloud to the Lord, and He answers me from His holy mountain.

5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again because the Lord sustains me.

Psalms 4:5-8 (HCSB)

5 Offer sacrifices in righteousness  and trust in the Lord.

6 Many are saying, "Who can show us anything good?" Look on us with favor, Lord.

7 You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and new wine abound.

8 I will both lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, Lord, make me live in safety.

Psalms 5:3, 8, 11 (HCSB)

3 At daybreak, Lord, You hear my voice; at daybreak I plead my case to You and watch expectantly.

8 Lord, lead me in Your righteousness, because of my adversaries;  make Your way straight before me.

11 But let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them shout for joy forever. May You shelter them, and may those who love Your name boast about You.

Psalms 10:17 (HCSB)

17 Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their hearts. You will listen carefully,

§         God hears your desire

§         God will strengthen your heart

§         God will be there close to listen to your heart

III.      The reward of the faithful

A.     To see the face of God

Psalms 11:7 (HCSB)

7 For the Lord is righteous; He loves righteous deeds. The upright will see His face.

B.     To be surrounded by friends who love you and know you

Psalms 12:5 (HCSB)

I will now rise up," says the Lord. "I will put in a safe place the one who longs for it."

There is a safe place for all who seek to follow Jesus - you will find yourself in a safe place where you are no longer alone, but rather are being comforted by friends all around you who will love you and understand you and who really know you.

Part of heaven's joy is that you will no longer feel alone or be alone.
